What is the 24x32 size big enough for?
It holds 1 bowl up to 14 cm across while still leaving a 5 cm gap from every edge. If you want a water bowl next to the food bowl, you need the 30x42 size. See the size comparison at Which anti-ant pad should I choose?
How do you place a bowl on the small 24x32 pad so ants can't get across?
A small pad leaves less free space around the bowl, so the things to watch are different from the big pad. Put the bowl right in the middle with at least 5 cm of margin on every side, then watch for the first few days to see whether your cat keeps pushing the bowl towards the edge. If it does, switch to a heavier bowl or one with a non-slip rubber base: as soon as the bowl sticks out past the edge of the pad, ants can use it as a bridge. The other thing is kibble your cat drops onto the pad. Left there, it becomes an ant path too, so pick up leftovers after each meal and wipe the pad with a damp cloth, then dry it. The manufacturer already says to keep every colour out of strong sun. The black pad absorbs more heat, so it is even more important to use it indoors.

Only the colour: Kuro is black, Shiro is white. Same 24x32 cm size and same material.
My cat keeps pushing the bowl to the edge of the pad. What can I do?
